Director Information
The Middle School Honor Choir is a unique learning opportunity in which talented middle school singers are selected through an audition process to sing in a clinic and concert with approximately 80 other private school students from Texas. Students prepare 3 choral works, learning their vocal part, for the recorded audition. A panel of judges made up of participating directors adjudicate the audition CD’s and select the top 20 sopranos, altos, tenors and basses to comprise the Honor Choir. These select students come together for a weekend to sing under the direction of a well-known conductor and finish out the weekend with a concert on Saturday afternoon. Students experience quality instruction, challenging music, and the joy of singing with other gifted singers from all over Texas. Students are awarded an Honor Choir patch to commemorate their experience.
