Notice Something New.......

THE PAYPAL BUTTONS ON THE RIGHT SIDE HAVE BEEN UPDATED WITH THE NEW 2013-14 MEMBERSHIP FEE AMOUNTS.

NEW AND RETURNING MEMBER REGISTRATION ....TPSMEA uses the music website SoloChair located at www.solochair.com for membership registration and to register our students for contests.  Click on the "Create New Teacher Account" and follow the instructions.  It is very important that you answer all the questions, especially the questions about what you teach, grade levels you teach, etc.  We are using the information you provide in solochair for our email lists.  The division VPs will sort the email list from solochair according to what you teach.  You will not receive the divisional emails if you are not registered or if you don't list what levels and classes you teach.  If you have already registered please make sure all the information is there and correct.  Thanks!!

Music theory material recommended by our members.  For a listing, click here!

Join TPSMEA by clicking on the button on the right column and registering at solochair.com.  You will then need to print a TPSMEA membership invoice from your members page at solochair and send a copy of it along with your dues to TPSMEA, P.O. Box 970, Bowie, MD 20718-0970 .  It that simple.

  A Message from Jane........

Welcome to the TEXAS PRIVATE SCHOOL MUSIC EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION website.  TPSMEA was founded to be a statewide organization specifically focused on the needs of private school music educators and students.  The activities of TPSMEA are designed to enhance and promote the teaching of music by providing appropriate opportunities for enrichment and achievement.  We proudly celebrated our 20th anniversary last year and are even more energized in planning for the future.  For us to make a difference in the lives of our students and the educational atmosphere of our state’s private, parochial and home schools we need colleagues, like you, who share our goals.  We invite you to get involved!

It is our purpose that this website be useful and informative, so please take a moment and look around.  Members should specifically review the 2012-1013 Handbook for updates to particular competition procedures and organizational policies.  For more information about the various activities and events that TPSMEA sponsors please use the email addresses on our CONTACTS page.  Each division officer welcomes your questions and all members of the State Board are here to help.  Please check back often – we will have some exciting news soon about a new TPSMEA presentation for our 21st All-State Weekend!  Plan now to attend this year’s All-State Conference and Concert and meet our four exceptional guest clinicians:  Mr. Paul Baker (Jazz), Dr. Larry Livingston (Orchestra), Dr. Sarah McKoin (Band), and Dr. Scott MacPherson (Choir).

As the President of TPSMEA it is my honor to represent our organization, to boast of the dedication and professionalism of our members, and to advocate the power of music across our state and beyond.  Please contact me if I can offer any assistance to you or to your music program.  We know this will be a memorable year for you and your students!
